Description
Lamp with loop-shape (the handle and the triangular peak were introduced in an old restoration). The disc is decorated with a hunting scene between a venator, i.e., a specialist in fighting animals in Roman games or ludi, and a feline, possibly a panther. The hunter is wearing a plumed helmet and a robe, held by a belt, which leaves uncovered part of the torso and right arm. He defends himself from the attack of the beast with a small shield and has protected his legs from his knees to feet, with greaves and also his right forearm while he grasps a short sword in his hand.
