Female terracotta of the tanagrina type, a name derived from the Greek city of Tanagra where they were first identified.
It is a piece 262 mm tall, 82 mm wide and 31 mm deep, that represents, in great detail, a young woman wearing a himation which covers her head and reaches her ankles in a dancing posture: her head and body are slightly turned, and her half bent arms delicately lift her dress to provide a glimpse of bare feet, hip and left leg in motion.
On the back, treated with less care, there is a rectangular opening to vent gases produced inside the kiln when the object was fired, and thus avoid fracture.
It still retains traces of polychrome. White is the colour that covers the entire piece. The face is light brown imitating flesh tones and it has traces of blue on the head and the bottom edge of the himation, forming three sides.
Under this long and wide garment appears another garment, the chiton, also painted white, but with traces of red paint. The base is completely painted red, but white is applied to the whole piece.
