Description
Goblet in the form of a chalice restored from eight fragments; it preserves the entire foot and a fragment of the lip. Brightly-coloured orange clay. It has a very thin walls and the clay fabric is refined. This vessel was located during the excavation in July 1998, in Sector 01, while cleaning the profiles. This type of goblet vessel could have multiple functions, from its use in the domestic sphere to religious contexts, such as its use in ritual libations, as documented in the Mediterranean area. Reinforcing this idea, the Treasure of Tivissa, kept at the Barcelona centre of the MAC, contains eleven silver goblets, some of them profusely decorated.
