Description
Necklace made with the marine gastropod Cypraea sp . At one end an opening was made with the sawing technique to suspend the beads, either threaded together or on clothing. These ornaments reflect the cultural traditions of the first groups of anatomically modern humans to reach Europe. Objects of ornament, as symbolic elements, must have expressed messages understood by other members of the group and could possibly indicate social status, prestige, age, belonging to a group...
